Summary

Our client is a leading ingredient solutions provider in the Plant-Based Food and Beverage Industry. Globally headquartered in Europe with a Regional NA headquarters in the Chicago, IL area. Their mission is to disrupt the plant-based market with a wide variety of innovative and best-in-class plant-based products. With over 170 R&D product scientists globally and a world class technology center in Europe, they are the total plant-based solutions provider for our customers. Due to expansion in North America, they are looking to hire a multi-skilled candidate with excellent interpersonal skills for the position of Product Manager to support the North American business. The Product Manager improve customer experiences, generate new product ideas, and outline detailed product strategies, among other duties.
In addition, the Product Manager is responsible for the business management of a product and its commercial success including product planning and product marketing. Further, you will gather and prioritize product and customer requirements, define the product vision, work closely with Product Development to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met and are in line with the company’s overall strategy and goals.
This position is a home based position (any US city) with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Define product strategy and roadmap.
• Understanding product selling points.
• Provide business development and marketing communications with insights on key differentiators and messages.
• Generating new product ideas.
• Conducting and analyzing user and client reviews, surveys, and interviews.
• Keeping a firm pulse on the plant-based industry direction.
• Defining and analyzing metrics that determine the success of the products.
• Regular assessments of key markets to identify key segments and growth opportunities related to consumer attitudes, behaviors, and perspectives.
• Assessment of relevant competitors to capture the strengths of products, where products are used, and implications.
• Create and manage programs to generate demand for the product.
• Develop sales tools and collateral.
• Close collaboration with Europe’s product management team for overall consistency.

Requirements

• Must have at least Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Economics, Communication, Advertising, Marketing, Statistics or something similar.
• Must have at least 5-7 yrs. of marketing/product management expertise in the Food & Beverage industry
• Prefer candidates that have experience working with Food Ingredients, Flavors or technical food products • Experience working with plant-based ingredients or plant-based foods/beverage is a plus.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. • Prefer candidates that have worked with analytics and analytics software. • Must have superior project management and interpersonal skills.
• Must have the ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure.
• Natural tendency should be curious, positive, and creative.
• Must be a team player who collaborates well with others.
• Must have sincere empathy for the customer and a commitment to delving deep into the challenges they present or experience.
